Job Overview
The Supreme Court of Ohio is seeking an experienced professional to fill the position of
Program Assistant
within its Judicial College. The Program Assistant is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the operations of Judicial College through a variety of clerical and procedural tasks, including serving as the primary contact for customer inquiries, researching and compiling data, and assisting in preparing and delivering Judicial College programs.
Responsibilities
Helpdesk Support: Serves as the contact for questions and support related to onsite and virtual education or association programs, ensuring high service levels and prompt responses.
Communication: Engages in regular communication with justices, judges, court staff, attorneys, the public, court administrators, and the media.
Administrative Support: Supports the Judicial College with tasks such as drafting correspondence, researching inquiries, compiling data, preparing reports and meeting minutes, maintaining records, recommending office procedures, coordinating daily workflow, and preparing requisitions. Also performs clerical duties like maintaining public areas, opening mail, managing course calendars, greeting visitors, copying, and preparing mailing materials.
Course Materials: Designs, drafts, tracks, edits, and publishes Judicial College course announcements and materials. Coordinates printing orders and liaises with the print shop and public information office.
Registration Processing: Receives, processes, and submits registration information for courses and meetings, updating databases accordingly.
Course Evaluations: Creates, prepares, compiles, and sends course evaluations.
Faculty Support: Prepares and sends faculty confirmation and thank‑you letters.
Continuing Education: Prepares and submits applications for continuing education credit approval and reports course completions.
Event Support: Serves as registrar, on‑site liaison, and transports course materials and A/V equipment for Judicial College courses and meetings.
Tech Support: Uses technological tools (laptops, applications, multimedia projectors, PowerPoint, polling software, etc.), sets up, tests, and troubleshoots equipment.
Quality Assurance: Performs quality assurance testing on online courses.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience required; or bachelor’s degree and 0 years of relevant experience required.
Experience in administrative support, customer service, and data entry.
Proficiency with office software and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
