The City of Seabrook is looking for a dependable Street Maintenance Worker I to join our Streets and Drainage team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems that residents rely on every day.
If you're someone who takes pride in physical work, works well on a team, and understands the importance of doing the job safely and correctly, this could be a good fit.
What You'll Do
Operate equipment such as trucks, loaders, rollers, and other tools used in street and drainage maintenance
Assist with construction and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
Install and maintain concrete, asphalt, signage, and pavement markings
Perform right-of-way maintenance including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep
Support drainage system work including pipe installation, ditch cleaning, and inspections
Identify and address issues such as blockages, damage, or wear in public infrastructure
Support the team with other duties as needed, including emergency response
This role supports the daily function and long-term reliability of the City's infrastructure.
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of relevant work experience
Valid Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain)
Ability to safely operate equipment and use hand and power tools
Willingness to learn, follow direction, and work as part of a team
Strong focus on safety and doing the job right
Work Environment
This is a field-based position with physical demands. You'll work primarily outdoors and may encounter:
Heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions
Exposure to noise, equipment, and job site hazards
Work near traffic or active work zones
The role includes standing, lifting, bending, and working with tools and equipment throughout the day.
Additional Requirements
Classified as Essential Personnel and must be available for emergency call-in during severe weather or disaster events
Ability to work cooperatively with team members and other departments
