SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Operator III - Tortilla operates machine(s) as defined in the Machine Operator Manual following all safety procedures. Adjusts machinery when operating and ensures machine adjustments or changes of materials is done on a timely manner. The Operator must demonstrate a detailed understanding of the quality requirements for the product being produced and able to make adjustments as necessary to achieve maximum quality. This position has a direct effect on the quality of our products. The Operator performs minor preventative maintenance (PMs) as necessary and evaluates upstream and downstream canning line dependencies and communicates changes to other operators or line personnel. This requires communication skills to maintain upstream and downstream equipment in harmony. The operator is responsible for evaluating throughput problems and bottlenecks and making reasonable recommendations to resolve. The operator is responsible for communicating quality related issues to their Team Lead, Shift Lead and/or Supervisor using the appropriate sense of urgency. The operator is responsible for troubleshooting equipment effectively and appropriately seeking assistance of a trained Mechanic. When necessary clearly communicate equipment problems to a Mechanic in detail.

Sheeter Operator
Machine operator is responsible for the following duties:
Set up of equipment at beginning and during of shift
Document operations by completing all required forms.
Change parameters and supplies of machine as required.
Know terminology and components of designated areas of equipment.
This position is responsible to ensure compliance with Critical Control Points and Preventive Controls in their process, which may include one or more of the following: Cook Time and Temperatures, Metal Detection, Canning Process Letter, Cooling Time and Temperatures, Bar Code Reader, Line Clearance, Pre-Operational Cleaning and Sanitation, and Material Usage. Provision for coverage of these responsibilities during an absence includes substitution by another person in the same position or by a trained lead or supervisor.
Performs minor Preventative Maintenance as required.
Bring supplies to the area and ensure correct supplies are used.
Effectively trouble shoot equipment and make corrections if needed.
When machine issues arise, call the mechanic and explain the problem.
Make sure the product is sealed and has the correct code (if applicable).
Change packaging materials to avoid downtime and can identify sub-standard supplies.
Operate machine in a safe manner.
Communicate to Supervisor or Team Leader any machine or process problems in a timely manner.
Perform general housekeeping tasks as it relates to their respective area for the purpose of providing a clean and safe work environment.
Can attend meetings representing the functional area.
Work well in a team-oriented atmosphere
Comply with the policies outlined in the Amy’s handbook.
Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
