Dealership Accounts Payable Clerk
We are seeking a detail-oriented and diligent Dealership Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the dealership's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all accounts payable processes. This position requires a strong aptitude for numbers, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Process and verify a high volume of invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Maintain and update vendor files with current payment terms, contact information, and account statements.
Prepare checks for payment, ensuring appropriate approvals are in place before processing.
Assist in month-end closing procedures by analyzing accounts and resolving discrepancies.
Respond promptly to vendor inquiries and resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve accounts payable functions.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations regarding financial transactions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
Proven experience in an accounts payable role, ideally within the automotive dealership industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with vendors and team members.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
