Location: Fremont, OH area

Overview
Profitable, established manufacturer is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the HR team and partner with managers throughout the site to develop and improve HR processes.

Candidate Profile
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, be a self‑starter, take initiative on projects, and have a continuous‑improvement mindset. They must be willing to spend 20–40% of their time on the manufacturing floor interacting with hourly and salary staff.

Responsibilities

Promote a safe working culture by supporting facility safety requirements

Act as a full‑cycle HR Generalist, assisting with employee relations, investigations,

FMLA , etc.

Conduct plant investigations, including documentation and counseling

Provide HR assistance and support for the plant

Support positive employee relation efforts and complete HR investigations as needed

Maintain staffing partner relationships for hourly and salary staffing

Co‑lead the new‑hire orientation process, including performing orientation when required

Oversee Workers’ Compensation and

FMLA

processes

Coach and mentor supervisors to conduct HR functions in a timely and professional manner, including PIPs, suspensions, exit interviews, and terminations

Perform data entry and HR functions in the HRIS system

Own the internal bidding process

Serve as backup for payroll and timekeeping

Provide input to policy administration

Develop and promote employee engagement activities

Support off‑shift production in a 24/7 operating environment by being flexible to visit off shifts as needed

Review HR metrics and KPIs and provide recommendations for improvement

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Human Resources or related field

At least 3–5 years in a similar HR Generalist position in manufacturing and/or distribution

Strong experience with incident investigations and employee relations

Exposure to payroll and timekeeping systems

Familiarity with

FMLA

and leave of absence policies

Basic understanding of internal bidding processes

Technical savvy capabilities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including strong

Excel

skills

Preferred but Not Required

Large workforce experience

MBA

Experience with non‑union workforce

SHRM certification

BWC experience

Experience in regulated environments
