How Your Role Makes a Difference
Schedules and transports youth to all medical appointments within allotted timeframes
Maintains and manages medical files in the UC Portal and ensures all records are updated
Submits treatment authorization requests to Point Comfort Underwriters for unaccompanied refugee clients
Serves as subject matter expert on Point Comfort Underwriters insurance through ongoing consultation and collaboration
Trains staff and monitors medication administration
Reviews medication administration records and ensures adequate medication supply for youth
Develops, recruits, and maintains positive working relationships with contracted health providers and partners
Provides resources and reports upon discharge
Ensures documentation and filing compliance with all required forms in accordance with agency, state licensing, and ORR requirements
Provides training to branch locations on documentation compliance as needed
Reconciles and addresses billing errors to ensure accurate billing and prevent loss
Maintains accurate, up-to-date information on foster children in care in compliance with DHS, ORR, and agency requirements
May participate in on-call support for shelter care staff to address after-hours medical issues as needed
Stays current on all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services
Travels periodically to healthcare facilities to build relationships and transport clients
Essential job responsibilities may vary based on program or department needs
May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany-sponsored event
Completes other duties as assigned
What Will Make You Successful
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification such as CMA, CNA, or completion of medical training in a related field
Minimum of one (1) year of employment experience in child welfare working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting
At least one (1) year of related work experience (three (3) years preferred)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service
Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Reliable with ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and tasks
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to change
Must be able to pass required medical examinations and perform essential job functions
Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization
Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage
Must pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
