About Our Family
We are a busy family with four young children (ages 6 weeks, 18 months, 4 and 5) who are homeschooled while both parents run companies from home. Our household is fast-paced, and we rely on a well-oiled system to keep everything running smoothly. While the children’s education is managed by their teachers, the day-to-day tasks of the home are equally important to ensure a balanced rhythm.
We are looking for someone who can work seamlessly behind the scenes, managing tasks efficiently and independently without needing constant direction. We value an absolute taskmaster—someone who thrives on staying organized, takes direction well and is always on top of things, with a hands‑on approach to keeping the home in order.
The ideal candidate will have a calm demeanor to match the energy of our home, creating a steady, supportive presence. This role requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision, all while maintaining the tranquility that allows our family to thrive.
Who We’re Looking For
Task‑Oriented & Proactive: Able to manage day‑to‑day tasks independently and efficiently.
Calm & Professional: A grounded individual with a steady presence who can navigate the unique needs of a busy household.
Detail‑Oriented: Ensure the home stays neat and organized, with a strong focus on maintaining cleanliness and order, especially in areas like the kitchen and laundry.
Adaptable: Comfortable adjusting to the evolving needs of the family and the household rhythm, especially with young children on the autism spectrum.
A Fanatic About Cleaning & Organization: A passion for maintaining cleanliness and organizing spaces.
This role is a great fit if you:
Enjoy taking on a task‑heavy role where your efficiency and attention to detail can make a significant impact.
Are comfortable with a behind‑the‑scenes position, offering support where needed while being a calming presence.
Have experience with housekeeping or similar roles, and enjoy the satisfaction of a well‑organized and tidy home.
Are willing to follow specific dietary and household protocols, especially for the children’s strict dietary needs.
Key Responsibilities
This role focuses on keeping the household running smoothly day to day, with a few core priorities that anchor the work. Other responsibilities support the overall flow of the home and are handled as time allows or on an as‑needed basis. We care more about the right things getting done – not checking all the boxes.
Weekly Priorities
Room resetting & laundry
Two daily resets: after lunch and after dinner
Family laundry: wash, dry, fold, organize, put away
Bedding/towels rotation: main bed twice weekly, main bathrooms daily, other bathrooms weekly
Meal preparation
Kids follow strict dietary protocol: gluten‑free, dairy‑free, sugar‑free
Fresh preparation of lunch/dinner daily, same menu for 2‑day cycles
Supplement preparation (prepared monthly in advance)
Simple adult meals: protein with vegetables, basic sides
Box organization & household management
Unpack, put items away, break down cardboard, dispose
General organization and decluttering (quarterly seasonal cleanouts)
Household Management & Organization
Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys)
Reset and tidy rooms daily (i.e. Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas); maintain overall neatness
Conduct seasonal swaps (clothing, decor, bedding, etc.)
Prepare for family events, holidays, and guest stays
Prepare and coordinate donation drop offs and pick ups
Support packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitions
Supervise or coordinate with service providers/vendors (handymen, etc.)
Load/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areas
Inventory Management & Errands
Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
Create and manage running household supply lists
Coordinate with staff initially, then eventually manage household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping
Handle package pickup, get the mail, break down boxes from deliveries
Meal Planning & Preparation
Prepare fresh food for the kids every two days, following a very specific menu/recipes
Prepare additional batch‑cooked proteins for the adults
Assist with weekly grocery order, eventually taking on the responsibility of owning the list
Follow dietary needs and family preferences: kids are gluten‑free, dairy‑free, sugar‑free
Prepare kids’ daily supplements one month in advance
Clean kitchen post‑prep and manage kitchen tidiness
Laundry & Linen Care
Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)
Occasionally iron, steam, and prepare outfits
Manage linens: rotate bedding (twice weekly), refresh towels (daily in main bathrooms), restock essentials
Keep laundry areas tidy and well‑stocked with supplies
Vehicle Management
Schedule and oversee maintenance, oil changes, and inspections
Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized
Track registration, insurance, and service schedules
Vendor & Property Oversight
Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes
