The Maintenance Grounds Worker / Driver is responsible for maintaining the facility’s buildings, grounds, and vehicles to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role also provides transportation services for residents to appointments, activities, and outings.
Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine building maintenance (minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC checks).
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and staff.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and keep accurate records.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility policies.
Assist with room setup and furniture moving as needed.
Groundskeeping
Maintain walkways and parking areas.
Ensure outdoor areas are safe and visually appealing.
Resident Transportation
Safely transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, and facility outings.
Assist residents in and out of vehicles as needed.
Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine vehicle inspections.
Adhere to all traffic laws and safety guidelines.
Safety & Compliance
Monitor and report safety hazards immediately.
Follow infection control and emergency preparedness procedures.
Participate in safety drills and training sessions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous maintenance and/or groundskeeping experience required.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate maintenance equipment and vehicles safely.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong communication skills and ability to interact respectfully with seniors.
CPR and First Aid certification.
Clear criminal background check (DOJ & FBI Live Scan).
TB clearance.
