Content Platform Lead
Gen Digital Inc., New York, NY, United States
Senior / Principal Product Manager – Content Platform
About the Role
Gen is hiring a Senior / Principal Product Manager to lead the buildout of our Content Platform — the unified content infrastructure that powers Marketplace, web, and owned-and-operated experiences across MoneyLion and Gen’s broader portfolio. Moving from one‑off page creation to a scalable, reusable content system.
You will own the consolidation of a mixed content stack — legacy WordPress and custom CMS implementations alongside a modern headless CMS — onto a unified architecture that enables teams to create content once and deploy everywhere. This is a platform PM role at its core: you will define the content model, governance, workflow tooling, and AI‑readiness of every consumer‑facing surface we run.
You will partner closely with Web Experiences, Marketplace, PMM, Lifecycle, SEO, and Engineering to turn content into a structured, AI‑ready asset that fuels personalization, experimentation, and cross‑brand reuse.
Key Responsibilities
Own the product strategy and roadmap for Gen’s Content Platform, spanning the modern headless CMS and the legacy WordPress/custom CMS stack.
Lead the content architecture strategy — content models, taxonomies, component libraries, and reuse patterns across surfaces and brands.
Drive consolidation and migration from legacy CMS implementations onto a unified headless CMS, in close partnership with Engineering.
Build the content authoring and governance experience so non‑engineering teams (PMM, lifecycle, brand, SEO) can self‑serve safely at scale.
Define the AI‑readiness of the content platform — structured, machine‑readable content that enables LLM‑driven content generation, automated tagging, taxonomy management, and AI‑powered personalization.
Partner with the Web Experiences PM to ensure the rendering layer and the content layer compose cleanly across MoneyLion web, GoBankingRates, CardCritics, and the syndication network.
Define KPIs for platform adoption, time‑to‑publish, content reuse, and engineering‑dependency reduction.
Set experimentation and measurement standards for content impact on conversion, engagement, and SEO.
Manage CMS and content‑ops vendor relationships, and lead buy‑vs‑build decisions across the content stack.
About you
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
Experience
7+ years of product management experience for L10, or 10+ years for L11, with meaningful time spent on content platforms, CMS, web infrastructure, or developer platforms.
Skills
Deep experience with headless CMS platforms (Contentful, Sanity, Contentstack, Strapi, or similar) and the architectural tradeoffs of modern vs. legacy content systems.
Strong understanding of content modeling, taxonomy design, component‑based design systems, and structured content.
Proven track record leading CMS consolidation, re‑platforming, or migration programs off legacy stacks (WordPress, custom CMS, etc.).
Familiarity with rendering strategies (SSR/SSG/ISR), web performance, and the SEO implications of content architecture.
Ability to define AI‑ready content architecture (content‑as‑data, embeddings, tagging, taxonomies).
Strong collaboration with design‑system and front‑end engineering teams.
Exceptional written and verbal communication; able to translate platform decisions into business outcomes.
Strong data literacy preferred.
Personal Attributes
Platform mindset — thinks in reusable systems, clear contracts, and compounding leverage rather than one‑off pages.
Comfortable operating across messy environments — can work across a legacy WordPress footprint and a modern headless CMS simultaneously without losing momentum.
Pragmatic and outcome‑oriented — balances architectural rigor with business velocity.
Strong bias for action and a builder’s mentality.
Sees AI as a teammate — actively explores how LLMs can make content scalable, personalized, and governed.
Location
New York, NY (Onsite 4 days per week)
Compensation
The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $195,000 and $270,000, depending on level (L10 or L11) and experience. Base salary is one component of Gen’s total compensation package, which includes annual discretionary bonus eligibility, equity, 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off for salaried roles. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role.
