Job Description
Purpose:
Utilizing leadership, advocacy, and collaboration, this individual will promote student success by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for students. In addition, the counselor will provide support to teachers and staff, contributing to a positive and productive school environment through coordination, communication, and shared leadership responsibilities.
Major Job Responsibilities
Serve as School Test Coordinator for all aspects of school testing (ISTEP+, ECA, AP, ASVAB, Accuplacer, SAT, PSAT, etc.)
Refer students and parents to special programs, specialists, and outside agencies
Act as contact person for Financial Aid
Oversee and coordinate exchange students, HOBY, DAR, Hoosier Boys/Girls State
Provide coordination of schedules and students among/between SICTC/WPCC
Act as liaison for NCAA information for student athletes
Assist with programs organized by the guidance department
Coordinate with teacher/admin team to create the Master Schedule
Plan and evaluate the counseling program utilizing academic and behavioral data
Design and lead guidance department and programs, often integrating with school-wide initiatives
Analyze academic, behavioral, and attendance data to identify trends, monitor student progress, and develop interventions for at‑risk students
Work closely with teachers, support staff, and administrators to implement school improvement plans and serve on leadership or advisory teams
Assist with supervision and administrative tasks as assigned by administration
Requirements
Must possess or be eligible to acquire an Indiana Educational Counselor’s license AND/OR administrative/supervisory experience.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
