Assistant Superintendent
Delta County School District Assistant Superintendent 2026-2027 School Year Salary Range: Certified Administration Salary Schedule Starting Salary: $114,020/year + Depending on Experience Health Insurance is available through the School District Retirement benefits through PERA 249 Days per School Year
The Assistant Superintendent serves as the Superintendent's designee and supports the overall operation of the district. The position ensures effective systems and services for students, staff, and the community while operating under the direction of the Superintendent.
Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree in education and principal's license
Five years of experience as a principal preferred
District level leadership experience preferred
Job Duties Include:
Serve as a key member of the Superintendent's leadership team
Oversee Alternative Education programs across the district, ensuring appropriate, effective, and compliant student services
Oversee court orders and legal documents, serving as the initial line of support on legal matters, and ensuring timely response, accurate documentation, and compliance in collaboration with district legal counsel
Oversee district athletics and activities, ensuring compliance with CHSAA and Title IX requirements
Oversee district-wide attendance systems, monitoring trends and supporting schools to improve student engagement and attendance outcomes
Oversee the Family Center, ensuring effective programming and services that support students, families, and community engagement
Oversee district-wide school safety systems, ensuring coordination with local agencies and effective implementation of crisis response protocols
Support principals and department leads with complex student discipline situations and provide guidance on staff discipline and investigations to ensure consistency and alignment with district policies
Maintain regular communication with the Superintendent, district leaders, and principals
Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Representing the district on committees and in community settings as assigned
Participate in district meetings with certified and classified staff
Participating in the budget development process
Collaborate on grant proposals and applications (community, state, and federal)
Assist in supporting effective staffing across the district
Other duties as needed/assigned
