Senior Payment Consultant (Retail Payments & Telecom Billing)
We are seeking an experienced Payment Consultant with deep expertise in retail payments and telecom billing ecosystems.
The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert (SME), advising stakeholders on payment systems, integrations, modernization strategies, and regulatory compliance, while driving business and technology alignment.
Payments Strategy & Advisory
Advise stakeholders on payment ecosystems including: cards (credit/debit/prepaid), ACH, wires, RTP, digital wallets & cross-border payments.
Recommend modernization roadmaps for scalability, efficiency, and innovation.
Provide thought leadership on payment trends, open banking, embedded finance, fraud prevention & regulatory changes (PCI DSS).
Telecom Billing & Integration
Work on telecom billing systems: prepaid / postpaid / convergent billing, charging, rating, mediation, invoicing.
Ensure seamless integration of payment platforms with BSS, CRM, ERP systems.
Support payment integrations across digital channels.
Implementation & Delivery
Support payment platform implementations, system upgrades and integrations.
Collaborate with engineering teams, payment vendors / processors / fintech partners.
Facilitate workshops, requirement gathering, solution assessments.
Risk, Compliance & Optimization
Identify and mitigate risks: fraud, operational, regulatory.
Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, data privacy, telecom regulations.
Optimize payment success rates, authorization flows, reconciliation & settlement.
Business & Financial Alignment
Support billing accuracy, revenue assurance, leakage prevention.
Collaborate with finance teams on chargebacks, disputes, credit risk.
Required Skills
Payments Expertise (Core)
Strong knowledge of card payments (credit/debit/prepaid), ACH, wire transfers, real-time payments (RTP), digital & mobile payments.
Telecom Domain (Must Have)
Telecom billing models: prepaid / postpaid / convergent.
Charging, rating, mediation, invoicing.
Technical & Integration Skills
Payment gateways / processors.
System integrations (BSS, CRM, ERP).
Understanding of APIs and payment platforms.
