Job Summary
The Floating Teller position provides a consistent source of well‑trained tellers who cover shortages across branches in the North Region. Each teller is assigned a region, deployed to branches on an as‑needed basis, and has a designated home branch for days when not floating. This 40‑hour/week position requires weekdays and every other Saturday.
Branches in North Region : Beaver Dam, Fall River, Germantown, Hartford, Hartland, Hubertus, Juneau, Madison, Mayville, Sussex, Wauwatosa and West Bend
Nature and Scope
Performs transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high accuracy, using a cash drawer and computer terminal at a temporarily assigned branch or location. Provides cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures, presents and explains basic credit union products and services to members, represents the credit union in a positive and professional manner, and may assist supervisors or trainers in training new tellers.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of previous teller experience in a financial institution.
Proven ability to cross‑sell from the teller line.
Demonstrated knowledge of all savings products, their benefits and features.
Excellent verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and within deadlines.
Experience or ability to gain proficiency in all programs and systems used for this job.
Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position, with compliance to all company policies, State and federal laws, and regulations.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Valid driver’s license.
Use of personal vehicle to drive to any branch or location on any scheduled workday.
Principal Accountabilities
Provide friendly, courteous, and expedient teller and related services, including those for business accounts, resulting in a balanced cash drawer daily.
Cross‑sell other services to members.
Perform opening/closing duties as needed (with manager on site).
Perform overrides for other associates as needed.
Perform check and cash verifications for other associates as necessary.
Balance the ATM as instructed (if not performed by an outside source).
Access and balance the vault as required.
Serve as a mentor; train, motivate, or assist other associates when needed.
Cross‑train to help in other positions within the branch.
Attend training at headquarters or an off‑site location as required.
