Job Summary
The Employment Specialist/Vocation Department Manager (DC-LV) is responsible for leading, expanding and executing Learnability's employment services model across a small, high-impact department.

This role integrates customized employment, vocational rehabilitation alignment, and 245D Designated Manager responsibilities to ensure individuals achieve meaningful, community-based employment and increased independence.

This position is both strategic and operational; the candidate will design employment pathways while actively leading staff, supporting individuals, and ensuring compliance across Employment Services and Individualized Home Supports.

The candidate must have initiative, creative and innovative skills for employment plans, and the ability to lead a growing and expanding team of amazing job seekers and staff that support them.

Supervisory Team Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Designated Manager (DM), Chief Services Officer, and CEO to develop and maintain staff schedules.

Lead efforts to secure shift coverage; provide direct support if needed.

Provide supervision, guidance, and coaching to Employment Support Professionals.

Develop and implement customized employment training strategies.

Partner with DM on initiatives and program development.

Ensure compliance with 245D, HCBS, and EVV requirements.

Manage Vocational Rehabilitation client's service plans, invoicing and documentation.

Submit weekly updates to DM on operations and staffing.

Supervisory Individual Served Responsibilities

Oversee employment exploration, development, and support services.

Support individuals in achieving employment and independent living goals.

Provide or coordinate on-site job coaching.

Promote workplace and interpersonal skill development.

Communicate progress with DM and Case Manager.

Promote workplace and interpersonal skill development.

Support interdisciplinary meetings and documentation.

Physical Requirements

Lift up to 40 lbs and assist with mobility as needed.

Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.

Perform CPR or emergency procedures if required.
