Job Summary
Performs all repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance to ensure maximum performance and condition of all slot machines. This includes special projects and overhauling machines. Guide and instruct slot technicians to obtain maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities
Supervise and direct the daily operations of the department in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Administer approved personnel changes within the department (hiring, promotions, demotions, discharges) subject to approval by the Slot Performance Manager and Slot Director.
Establish required training programs for all slot technicians.
Maintain open lines of communication and provide counsel to staff.
Guide and instruct slot technicians to achieve maximum efficiency.
Maintain a close liaison with vendors regarding machine problem areas and conversions when required.
Monitor all slot overhaul maintenance programs to ensure proper procedures are used by all personnel.
Monitor slot repair parts inventory and expenditures.
Perform all other duties as requested by the Slot Performance Manager and Slot Director.
Qualifications
Minimum 21 years of age.
High school graduate or equivalent required.
Minimum of five (5) years of actual technical experience in slots.
Minimum of three (3) years of direct supervision with progressively increasing levels of responsibility and authority in the slot repair department.
Working knowledge of all types of slot machines, change machines, coin wrappers, and related equipment.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, electrical circuitry, and blueprints.
Ability to work on integrated circuits, computers, coin rollers and sorters, test equipment, and install/repair S.D.S. (slot data system) with a fundamental knowledge of electronics.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to work any day of the week and any shift, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to work collaboratively with co‑workers and maintain a positive team environment.
Well‑groomed appearance.
Building profile, Nevada residency, and Gaming License (Nevada).
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and lie on back to work inside slot machine cabinets for extended periods.
Capability to push and lift up to 100 pounds.
Ability to see small objects in poorly lit areas.
Coordination and manual dexterity to work with power tools.
Ability to maneuver around the casino/hotel as needed.
Fluency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English, and tolerance for secondhand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
