The non-profit organization operates the American Job Centers in Wheaton and Germantown and provides employment services to county residents who are unemployed or underemployed. Additionally, WSM engages employers in various industries throughout the county to ensure that their workforce needs are being met.

Job Overview
The Intake Coordinator is responsible for assisting job seekers’ entry into the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. The Intake Coordinator ensures eligibility and case management referrals are both timely and accurate. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to recruitment, intake/eligibility, orientation, and referral to case management & business services.

Responsibilities & Duties

Conducts weekly orientations to provide an overview of WSM services and programs.

Coordinates and completes common intake process for WSM programs.

Facilitates information and other intake sessions with potential participants.

Coordinates case assignment to career coaches upon eligibility determination.

Maintains eligibility documentation for each client.

Collaborates with internal and external partners to organize and support recruitment and enrollment activities.

Performs reporting functions to include enrollment and case management into the computer tracking system, i.e., Maryland Workforce Exchange, in compliance with documentation requirements.

Monitors numerical goals and develops and implements improvement strategies to meet benchmark objectives.

Prepares written communications, to include progress reports etc., as assigned.

Attends conferences, staff meetings and WSM functions, as assigned.

Outreach via email & phone to potential unemployed workers in Maryland.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

High School diploma.

Solid understanding of WIOA to identify documents for eligibility and resources to help participants find the required documents.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel and Word, must be verifiable.

The position requires excellent organizational skills to include the ability to prioritize work and manage deadlines successfully.

Commitment to outstanding service delivery, teamwork and client outcomes must be verifiable through references.

Full-time, Non-exempt position

Location
This position is a Hybrid role with required on-site presence at the Wheaton AJC.

Applicants should be local to the DC Metro region.
