Job Description
Graham County Schools is seeking two motivated and dependable summer maintenance workers to support the general maintenance department during the summer months. This temporary position is ideal for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable performing a variety of tasks in an educational environment. Work may include both indoor and outdoor tasks and will involve physical labor. Candidates must be able to follow instructions, complete assignments with minimal supervision, and maintain a positive and professional attitude while working on school campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists maintenance staff with minor repairs and facility upkeep.
Performs lawn care tasks including mowing, trimming, and debris removal.
Moves furniture and equipment as needed for summer cleaning and preparation.
Supports custodial staff with general cleaning and setup.
Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition.
Completes other duties as assigned to support school operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Hard work ethic and ability to multitask in a dynamic educational environment.
Basic understanding of hand and power tools.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Respectful and professional behavior in school settings.
Education and Experience
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to lift and move.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Must be at least 16 years of age with a current driver’s license.
Prior experience is a plus, but not required.
Salary
$15.00 per hour
