In the summertime, we offer Stand‑up Paddle Board Yoga on Lake Tahoe as well as outdoor yoga on the deck. We also host community‑centric gatherings such as yoga retreats, teacher trainings, workshops, and events focused on engaging people in making the world a better place.

Mountain Lotus Provisions is a food truck and full‑service catering business. Mountain Lotus Provisions tailors special menus for public events, private events, as well as off‑site catering and festivals.

About the Role
The primary duty of the Events Staff is to assist the Events Manager in the successful execution of various private and public events and functions by providing setup, event registration, breakdown and clean‑up services. In addition, to provide assistance to clients and guests when needed. The person in this role may be assigned one or multiple posts within the events operation: Event Host, Set‑Up & Breakdown Crew or Bartender depending on the event.
This role requires strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with organization, attention to detail, and adaptability to handle a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
Essential Job Duties
EVENT HOST
Setup Venue according to Run‑of‑Show document instructions per event, including stage pieces setup.
Handle registration and ticket sales for events at the Venue door.
Check guest identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age and monitor consumption to prevent over‑intoxication (must have a valid CA RBS certificate to perform).
Enforce Venue alcohol policies at the main door and other entry points as assigned.
Clear trash and debris, maintaining the overall cleanliness of the event space, including bathrooms, before, during, and after events.
Direct and assist clients and guests as needed.
Ensure that the event timeline is executed accordingly, and that noise policy cut‑off is strictly adhered to.
Provide assistance to Events Manager as needed for successful event execution.
SET-UP/ BREAKDOWN CREW
Arrange and move Café/Studio furniture, retail displays, and decor pieces as described for the event. Event breakdown includes setup of the lobby, café tables and yoga studio for regular business operations for use after events.
Install and position basic AV equipment (like speakers and microphones), lighting, and other technical systems, and assisting the A/V Consultant.
Install and/or put away stage pieces and stage curtains.
Place event signage, branding displays, and decorative elements for events.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1+ years experience executing events, or working in the hospitality/restaurant industry.
A valid California Food Handlers Card, and a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certificate or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Previous experience as event staff capacity, in event coordination, or in event‑related roles is highly beneficial.
Experience operating specialized audio‑visual and music equipment is highly desirable, but not required.
Possession of a valid CPR and First Aid certificate is desirable, but not required.
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment is crucial.
Skill Requirements
Ability to regularly lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds as an essential function of the role.
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment is crucial.
Computer savvy; proficient in (or ability to quickly learn to navigate) online collaboration tools, sales databases and communications platforms, such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), Square Space, EventBrite, MindBody.
Strong understanding of event planning and execution, and ability to align with client needs and preferences to create tailored and personal events.
Service oriented with ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, adapt to change and act with integrity. Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills and ability to build rapport with clients, vendors, colleagues and stakeholders regardless of their cultural, socioeconomic or ethnic backgrounds.
Ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely, listen actively, and adapt communication style to different audiences, and resolve conflicts effectively.
Ability to actively communicate with team members and leadership to address issues, offer support, and contribute to continuous improvement in the overall execution of successful events. In addition to assisting other team members with tasks as needed to support the overall success of the event.
Schedule and Time Commitment
Hourly position, with a variable work load ranging from 2 to 12 hours per month, mostly onsite with occasional offsite work during festivals and community events. The Events Staff shifts are typically on weekends and holidays and are usually scheduled 2 to 4 weeks in advance.
