Job Description:
Holy Cross Catholic School is accepting applications for a Second GradeTeacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
A second grade teacher requires maintaining established routines, creating lesson plans based on curriculum, and fostering a nurturing, structured environment. Key tasks include managing, grading, communicating with parents, and utilizing consistent behavioral systems. Focus on building rapport to manage young students. The primary goal is to support the student's educational development while maintaining a safe, healthy, and organized environment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Child Care and Supervision
Curriculum & Planning: Adhere to existing lesson plans while, if necessary, creating new ones aligned with district standards.
Preparation for Sacraments of 1st Penance and 1st Eucharist.
Classroom Management: Establish consistent routines (e.g., morning work, specific procedures for bathroom/snack) to provide stability. Use positive reinforcement like reward tickets to manage behavior.
Building Rapport: Learn student names quickly and connect with them to build trust. Second graders often require more direct attention and guidance.
Preparation: Request, early access to, class rosters, login information for, tech tools, and the, daily, schedule.
Communication: Maintain open communication with parents and staff.
Communication and Administrative Support
Staff Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the other staff members to ensure consistent and quality education and care.
Parent Communication: Communicate with parents/guardians about their child's activities, behavior, and basic needs.
Record Keeping: Basic administrative tasks such as tracking attendance, recording daily notes (when needed), grades and updating and communicating grade reports (when needed).
Qualifications:
PA Teaching Certification, Bachelor's Degree, Practicing Catholic, Good with children, FBI fingerprint, Child Abuse, and Criminal Background, ACT 126 Background clearances
