We are looking for a JR Purchasing agent for our client in South Burlington, VT. A Junior Buyer is an entry-level procurement professional responsible for assisting in the purchasing of goods and services, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring efficient procurement processes.
Job: JR Purchasing agent/Buyer
Location: South Burlington, VT
Pay: 22.00 an hour
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Support: Assist in the procurement of goods and services, ensuring that purchases are made at the most favorable terms for the organization.
Vendor Management: Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to secure the best deals.
Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate records of purchases and vendor performance.
Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to identify new suppliers and products, and recommend product substitutions when necessary.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior buyers and other departments to ensure smooth procurement processes and timely delivery of products.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field is often preferred.
Experience: 0-2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing is typically required.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to evaluate suppliers and products effectively.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to build and sustain supplier relationships.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and ensure accuracy in procurement processes.
