Summary
The Maintenance 1 performs general maintenance duties including plumbing, piping, relocation of mechanical equipment, minor electrical maintenance, building additions and alterations, welding, carpentry, painting, lockout procedures, and janitorial duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance operations such as plumbing, welding, flooring, minor fabrication, carpentry and painting.
Assist with setting up and placement of new machinery such as saws, drill presses, CNC machines, and welders.
Troubleshoot, assemble, disassemble, repair and install minor mechanical equipment and tools, and some electrical equipment.
Perform all janitorial duties including cleaning restrooms, breakrooms, buffing floors, taking trash out, mowing and weed eating the yard.
Follow lockout procedures for equipment being serviced.
Ensure all safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalency test/GED.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in electrical maintenance.
Ability to read engineering drawings or schematic diagrams.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position is in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, moving machinery and trip hazards. Personal protective equipment such as head, eye, hearing, and foot protection, including composite toed safety boots are required.
This position may be exposed to welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes.
Additional PPE may be required as determined by the environment.
