
Mechanic Floor - Facilities - Weekends - Rotating Shifts

Overview
The Floor Mechanic performs general, routine, and preventative maintenance to keep facilities running. Responds to and documents maintenance issues on the unit(s). Performs minor HVAC, electrical, painting, plastering, carpentry, plumbing, and refrigeration repairs as needed. If complex problems arise, requests additional assistance to resolve.
Responsibilities
Respond to and document maintenance issues on the unit(s).
Perform minor HVAC, electrical, painting, plastering, carpentry, plumbing, and refrigeration repairs as needed.
Escalate complex problems to obtain additional assistance.
Maintain close communication with Patient Care Directors, Patients, Supervisors, and Office of Facilities Operations Administration to ensure prompt and efficient response to requests.
Inventory and maintain parts and materials needed for equipment on the unit(s).
Location: NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Schedule
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; Saturday: 4:00 pm to 12:00 am.
Qualifications
5 years of general maintenance experience
High school diploma or GED
Working knowledge of the trades
Excellent interpersonal skills
Preferred Criteria
Valid current driver\'s license
