Requirements
Two (2) years of surgical scheduling experience.
Associate's Degree
Spanish fluency
Job Summary
Strong knowledge of insurance authorization processes, attention to detail, and the ability to efficiently coordinate with providers and payers to secure timely approvals for surgical cases. Experience with EPIC preferred.
Responsibilities
Coordinates all OR surgeries and procedures
Monitors front office workflow and ensures optimal service delivery
Verifies patient demographics and obtains pre-certifications from insurance carriers
Obtains patient medical clearance
Resolves patient issues and answers questions regarding policies and procedures
Places surgical confirmation calls one day prior to procedures
Schedules post-operative follow-up visits with providers
Acts as liaison between referring physicians and surgeons for clinical communication and OR scheduling
Trains and mentors surgical scheduling coordinators and junior staff
Collects and distributes required paperwork to coordinate surgeries
Records hospital reservation and pre-admit data in CERNER system
Performs additional duties as assigned
