Overview
Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) – Surgical Services, Plattsburgh, NY. This travel, temporary assignment starts 05/18/2026 for 13–16 weeks in a hospital operating room unit with float to an ambulatory surgery center as cases schedule allow. Weekly pay ranges from $1,942 to $2,100 per week. Guaranteed hours are not guaranteed. Shift is 3x12-hour days.

Travel assignment in a hospital OR unit with ASC float
On‑call and weekend rotation; float to ASC as needed
Responsibilities
Prepare sterile setup and maintain a sterile field for surgical cases; assist the team with instrumentation and supplies.
Circulate as applicable and scrub when assigned; manage instrument passes, counts, and specimen handling.
Assist with patient positioning and transport per protocol; support anesthesia and surgical staff as needed.
Maintain OR readiness and turnover: set up rooms, ensure availability of implants and equipment, and assist with equipment reprocessing.
Document intraoperative details in EPIC and adhere to safety, infection control, and workflow standards.
Participate in unit coverage, including float to ASC and responding to case demand; support case scheduling and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
New York State license as a Surgical Technologist and NBSTSA certification (or equivalent); BLS certification required.
Minimum 2 years of clinical OR tech experience; vascular skills are a must.
Prior travel experience preferred; work history from facilities of similar size and trauma II or higher experience is beneficial.
Proficiency in ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro procedures; able to circulate and scrub as needed.
Ability to work in an OR setting with the capability to float to ASC; EPIC documentation experience; strong teamwork and communication.
Shift and scheduling flexibility: comply with rotation, call, and holiday requirements; be available for on‑call as described.
