Position Description

The Air Command and Control (C2) Systems SME (C2 Network Administrator) provides technical and operational expertise in the configuration, integration, testing, and sustainment of Air C2 systems within complex tactical and test environments. This role supports systems such as Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), Composite Tracking Network (CTN), and Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS), ensuring reliable system performance and interoperability across networked architectures. The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with operational experience to enable effective system‑of‑systems integration and mission success.
Essential Position Functions

Set up, configure, operate, and maintain Air C2 systems including CAC2S, CTN, and TBMCS in support of test, engineering, and operational activities.
Troubleshoot Air C2 systems, associated networks, and tactical data links to support test and evaluation objectives.
Provide operational and technical expertise during planning and execution of test and engineering events, including review and input to technical and test documentation.
Deliver real‑time technical and operational feedback during events, including recommendations to improve system integration and interoperability.
Establish and configure system interfaces and Tactical Data Link architectures (e.g., Link‑16, VMF, CEC, IBS) to support system‑of‑systems environments.
Provide on‑site operational support and over‑the‑shoulder training to users and stakeholders.
Document, track, and resolve system issues encountered during operations, integration, testing, and training efforts.
Participate as a subject matter expert in technical meetings, providing insight on system functionality, connectivity, and readiness.
Develop Air C2 architecture diagrams illustrating system interfaces, connectivity, and information exchange pathways.
Configure and manage virtualized server environments supporting Air C2 systems.

Physical Requirements for the role

This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including viewing monitors, using keyboards, and operating standard office equipment. The role may require occasional standing, walking, and minimal lifting (up to 10 pounds).
