Position Description

The Ground Command and Control (C2) Systems Engineer provides technical leadership and engineering expertise in the design, integration, testing, and sustainment of ground-based C2 systems within complex operational and test environments. This role supports engineering, training, and test activities for systems such as JTCW, TCS, GCCS, TSOA, CHE, CDN, JBC-P, and MCH, ensuring interoperability and mission effectiveness across integrated architectures. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams and customers to analyze requirements, develop solutions to complex technical challenges, and deliver reliable, scalable system capabilities. The ideal candidate possesses strong systems engineering fundamentals, experience in C2 environments, and the ability to lead technical efforts while ensuring adherence to configuration management, quality control, and project management best practices.
Essential Position Functions

Lead and provide technical guidance to teams supporting test, engineering, and training efforts for Ground C2 systems.
Define, organize, and assign engineering and testing activities to ensure successful execution of project objectives.
Develop, integrate, and implement solutions to complex technical challenges across multiple systems and disciplines.
Provide technical mentorship to team members, fostering skill development and knowledge transfer.
Analyze customer requirements and test objectives to develop and execute effective engineering and test plans.
Develop, review, and contribute to technical documentation, including test plans, procedures, reports, and engineering artifacts.
Prepare and deliver technical briefings to customers, leadership, and stakeholders.
Document system performance, technical status, and issues encountered during test and engineering events.
Collaborate proactively with customers to identify problems and implement effective technical solutions.
Plan, allocate, and optimize resources to support multiple concurrent engineering and test activities.
Manage and maintain lab environments, including system configurations, hardware, and supporting infrastructure.
Support configuration management and quality control processes to ensure system integrity and compliance.
Execute multiple project objectives within established timelines, ensuring high-quality deliverables and mission success.

Physical Requirements for the role

This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to work at a computer for extended periods, including viewing monitors, using keyboards, and operating standard office equipment. The role may require occasional standing, walking, and minimal lifting (up to 10 pounds).
