Shipping and Receiving Material Handler

Pay Range: $23 per hour
Position

The Shipping and Receiving position is responsible for ensuring that finished products are shipped to the Company’s customers in a timely and cost-effective manner and unloads raw materials.
Responsibilities

Read and understand production cards, production schedules, and loading documents
Determine the correct equipment that is required to perform the essential job functions
Locate material, check product identification, weight, and stage load to ensure quick and efficient loading of the common carrier
Visualize loading plan and determine most efficient and safest way to load finished product on common carriers
Prepare loading tallies and complete other paperwork as required
Ability to work independently and with customers both internal and external
Ability to use bar code reader, RF scanners to ensure that proper product is being loaded, and basic computer skills for printing tags
Maintain good standards of housekeeping in general work area and observe and comply with all safety rules and regulations
Qualifications

Experience driving a forklift in a Production Environment
Ability to think strategically, solve problems
Must be able to pass pre-employment background, drug/alcohol, and physical screenings
Must be at least 18 years old – due to work environment
Must have basic math skills
Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs
