Job Summary
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering both strategic and hands‑on HR support across the organization. This role partners closely with leaders and employees to drive key GR initiatives, manage complex employee relations matters, and ensure effective execution of HR programs. The Senior HR Generalist serves as a subject matter expert and may lead projects or mentor junior HR team members.
Hours and Wage
Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Starting wage: $28.00-30.00 per hour, based on experience
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with mediating disputes, terminations, and administering disciplinary procedures
Serve as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance management and workplace concerns
Lead complex investigations and recommend appropriate actions
Coach leaders on employee engagement, conflict resolution and team effectiveness
Partner with leadership to align HR practices with business objectives
Support organizational design, workforce planning and change management initiatives
Identify trends and recommend proactive HR solutions
Driver performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews and development planning
Assist in leadership development initiatives
Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring strategies and workforce needs
Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws
Interpret and apply HR policies consistently
Recommend policy updates and process improvements
Support merit planning and incentive programs
Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, etc.) to identify trends and opportunities
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity
Lead or participate in HR initiatives and cross‑functional projects
Mentor HR Generalist or coordinators, as applicable
Ability to travel as needed to support multiple locations
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
Ability to build relationships and partner with leaders at all levels
Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
High level of discretion and confidentiality
Education and Experience
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
5-8 years of progressive HR experience, including generalist experience
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
