
Engineer II (API; UI Engineer)

We are seeking an innovative Engineer II to design and implement a next‑generation, AI‑driven automation framework for UI and API testing. This role focuses on leveraging AI agents to generate, execute, and maintain test automation, enabling scalable, low‑maintenance, and high‑coverage testing aligned with real customer journeys.

Key Responsibilities
Build and scale a reusable automation framework for UI and API testing
Enable AI‑generated and AI‑assisted test scripting using tools like GitHub Copilot
Develop automation for end‑to‑end customer journeys (not just isolated test cases)
Implement agent‑based workflows where AI manages test creation, execution, and optimization
Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
Automate test reporting and defect tracking through JIRA with minimal manual intervention
Design self‑healing and intelligent test automation to improve coverage and reduce maintenance
Collaborate with engineering, QA, and product teams to align automation with real user scenarios
Required Skills
Strong experience in UI and API test automation
Hands‑on with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST Assured, or similar tools
Experience with AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
Solid programming skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
Familiarity with CI/CD integration and JIRA
Understanding of microservices and distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AI‑driven QA or autonomous testing platforms
Exposure to self‑healing test frameworks
Knowledge of prompt engineering or guiding AI agents
Previous experience in enterprise environments such as Amex
Experience
3–5+ years in software engineering or test automation
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
