Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The HR Intern will work on a variety of projects within HR. A key component of this internship includes leading a special project to reorganize and enhance Pyrotek's HR SharePoint pages to improve usability, accessibility, and information governance.
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and analytical individual with a strong interest in Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS). This role provides hands‑on experience supporting HR technology platforms and assisting with HR process optimization.
Internship will run May - August timeframe and be an in-office position, 5 days/week.
Key Responsibilities
Special Project: HR SharePoint Optimization
Conduct a comprehensive review of the current HR SharePoint structure and content
Reorganize folders, documents, and navigation for improved user experience
Archive outdated materials and ensure version control compliance
Develop standardized naming conventions and document governance guidelines
Create user-friendly layouts and update content for clarity and accessibility
Collaborate with HR stakeholders to identify content gaps and improvement opportunities
Develop a maintenance plan to ensure ongoing accuracy and usability
HRIS Administration & Support
Assist with maintaining and updating employee records in the HRIS system
Support data audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Data Management & Reporting
Support data analysis for HR initiatives and workforce planning
Ensure confidentiality and integrity of sensitive employee information
Identify opportunities to improve data accuracy and reporting efficiency
Process Improvement
Document HRIS processes and create user guides
Contribute to HR digital transformation projects
General HR Support
Collaborate with HR team members on special projects
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
Strong interest in HR technology and systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as ADP, aplus
Experience with SharePoint or similar document management systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
Experience working with databases or reporting tools
Basic understanding of HR processes (recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits)
Familiarity with information architecture or digital content organization
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
The hourly compensation for this part‑time position is $22.00 / hour. This is a non‑benefited position that will run from May to August.
