The Opportunity
Lonestar Forklift is looking for a
Service Manager
to join our team in
Odessa, Texas . As the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and performance of the Service department, including overseeing the work of Technicians and partnering with Service Dispatchers.
As the Service Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Managing the performance and development of the Service team, including driving the accountability of team members, staffing the department appropriately, and facilitating training
Partnering with the Human Resources department on labour-related and sensitive personnel issues
Contributing to continuous improvement by leading or supporting LEAN initiatives, improving the overall efficiency of the department
Proactively managing the Service fleet as it relates to vehicle purchases, replacements, repairs, and maintenance
Working in partnership with other business units to develop and grow key customer accounts, while generating new business and revenue streams
Actively addressing customer service issues and/or disputes
Managing Key Performance Indicators that relate to the Service department
Strategically analyzing the financial statements, utilizing them as a tool to drive the profitability of the department
Advocating and driving compliance on all corporate safety initiatives, policies, and programs
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
Previous leadership experience, including at least five years of supervisory experience in a Service department
Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery or material handling equipment is a strong asset
Post-secondary degree or diploma in business, operations management, or a related discipline preferred
Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
Superior organization, prioritization, and planning skills
