Job Description
The Secretary/Technician (Sec/Tech) provides essential administrative and patient care support to the nursing unit by managing communications, organizing medical records, assisting clinical staff, and supporting patients’ daily care needs.
Answering telephones and responding promptly to patient call bells
Greeting and assisting visitors, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
Organizing and maintaining medical records, unit forms, and office supplies
Assisting physicians and staff with electronic order entry
Assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
Measuring, recording, and reporting vital signs as directed
Helping maintain a safe, clean, and well‑organized patient care environment
Transporting hazardous medications in accordance with hospital and safety protocols
Performing additional duties as assigned to support unit operations and patient care
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Prior experience as a Unit Associate, Secretary/Technician, or Nursing Assistant in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
