JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a part-time (weekends) Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and a safe, comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors at Lord Chamberlain.
RESPONIBILITIES
Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, dining and lounge areas, offices, and other facility spaces on a regular schedule.
Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, polish surfaces, clean windows, walls, and furniture; remove trash and empty wastebaskets.
Perform scheduled deep‑cleaning tasks (e.g. carpet shampooing, floor stripping/buffing, disinfecting high‑touch surfaces) as required.
Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment; report needed repairs or supply shortages; store cleaning chemicals properly and follow safety protocols (e.g. MSDS/OSHA, infection control).
Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain safe, well‑kept, and comfortable; attend to resident requests for housekeeping services in a timely and respectful manner.
Work collaboratively with nursing and support staff to coordinate cleaning tasks without disruption to resident care.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent).
Previous housekeeping or custodial experience — preferably in a healthcare, residential care, or long‑term care facility.
Ability to read, write, and understand English for safety, procedure compliance, and communication with staff/residents.
Physical stamina: able to lift, bend, stoop, walk, stand for extended periods; capable of moving furniture/equipment; handle cleaning supplies and waste.
Reliable, detail‑oriented, able to work independently or as part of a team; respectful of resident dignity, privacy, and comfort.
