Job Description
Delta Star Inc. is seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Inventory Control Analyst to support manufacturing operations by ensuring inventory accuracy and data integrity within our MRP/ERP systems. What You’ll Do
As an Inventory Control Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in keeping production moving by maintaining accurate inventory data, resolving discrepancies, and supporting planning and optimization efforts. You’ll work closely with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to ensure materials are available when needed—all while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

A Day in the Life
Your day may include reviewing inventory transactions in the ERP system, performing cycle counts on the shop floor, investigating discrepancies, and partnering with Purchasing to optimize reorder points. You’ll generate reports, support KPIs, and ensure material movements between warehouse and production are accurately reflected. From supporting audits to improving data processes, your work will directly impact production efficiency and financial accuracy.

Specific Duties

Maintain high accuracy of inventory data within the MRP/ERP system, including item setup, part numbers, and transactions.

Analyze inventory discrepancies and perform root‑cause investigations.

Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory activities; reconcile variances as needed.

Execute material issuance transactions to convert raw materials to WIP and ensure proper cost allocation.

Monitor material movement between warehouse and production for system accuracy.

Partner with Purchasing to review and optimize inventory parameters (min/max levels, safety stock, reorder points).

Support demand and supply planning through accurate system inputs.

Generate inventory reports and assist with KPI tracking and performance reporting.

Support new product introductions and engineering changes by ensuring accurate system setup.

Identify and support process improvements to strengthen inventory accuracy and data integrity.

Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and Finance to resolve inventory‑related issues.

Support audits and annual physical inventories.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For
A proactive and detail‑driven professional with strong analytical skills, a systems mindset, and a commitment to inventory accuracy in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

2–3 years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment.

Hands‑on experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and lookup functions.

Demonstrated success maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy.

Experience in Lean or continuous improvement environments preferred.

Experience supporting audits and full physical inventories preferred.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.

Systems‑oriented thinking and process discipline.

Understanding of BOM structures and production planning logic.

Ability to interpret technical documentation and drawings (a plus).

Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Strong collaboration skills across functional teams.

High level of accountability and ownership.
