The Waubun‑Ogma‑White Earth School District is seeking a dedicated 4th‑6th Grade Physical Education/Electives Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. Job Summary
The 4th‑6th Grade Physical Education/Electives Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging physical education instruction while supporting elective programming. Job Requirements

Plan and deliver physical education instruction for students in grades 4‑6

Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state physical education and health standards

Teach a variety of activities, including team sports, individual fitness, lifetime activities, and wellness concepts

Promote physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanshipAdapt instruction and activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all students

Assess and evaluate student performance, participation, and progress

Maintain a safe and structured learning environment, including proper use of equipment and facilities

Incorporate health, nutrition, and wellness concepts into instruction as appropriate

Collaborate with staff to support school‑wide initiatives and student development

Supervise students in locker rooms, gymnasiums, and outdoor activity spaces

Maintain and organize physical education equipment and facilities

Communicate with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and expectations

Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong knowledge of physical education principles, fitness concepts, and health education

Understanding of state standards and student assessment practices

Ability to plan and deliver instruction that meets diverse learning needs

Strong classroom management and behavior management skills

Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to collaborate with students, staff, parents, and administration

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities

Working Environment
Duties are performed in gymnasiums, classrooms, and outdoor school environments. Employees may be exposed to varying weather conditions and moderate physical activity demands.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Education and a relevant instructional subject area(s).

License:

Licensed in the State of Minnesota in the instructional area.

Experience:

Minimum completion of an assigned internship/practice teaching experience and a degree program.
