Job Description Summary
Perform CT scans on predominately outpatients at the Laurel Street Pavilion CT scanner. Able to start IVs and inject IV contrast. Proficient with computers and IT, able to process patient throughput on EPIC and other computer programs. Able to work efficiently in an outpatient setting.

Job Description
The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT) reports to the CT supervisor of CT and the manager of radiology. Under general supervision, the CT Technologist performs high‑quality CT examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonates through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician. Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited school of radiologic technology and possess one year of radiologic experience.

Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Must obtain ARRT Computed Tomography Registration within one year of hire date.

Proactively maintain ARRT, state license, BLS, PPD, respirator fit test, and POC training.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force. (Frequent)

Examples of force requirements:

To transfer a 100‑lb. patient that cannot assist requires 50 lbs. of force. For every additional 100 lbs., assistance will be required from another healthcare worker.

20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400‑lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet.

25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand.

Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous)

Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous)

Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous)

Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous)

Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous)

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Work Experience: 0‑2 years of modality‑specific experience.

Registration/Certifications: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). ARRT CT Registration required within one year in position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
