Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as an instructional leader and administrative support to the Principal in the operation of the high school. Assists with supervision, student discipline, staff support, school safety, instructional programs, communication, and implementation of school and district policies. Supports the Principal in maintaining a positive, safe, orderly, and effective learning environment for all students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Appropriate Kentucky Certification as a Principal.
Experience and other qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Performance Responsibilities:
Assists the Principal in setting high expectations for students, staff, and instructional programs.
Supports the development and implementation of the school’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP).
Assists in establishing and maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive learning climate throughout the school.
Supports the implementation of adopted policies and procedures from the Board of Education, district, and school.
Assists with supervision of school staff and supports improvement of professional performance.
Assists with teacher observations, evaluations, walkthroughs, and feedback as assigned by the Principal.
Supports the work of the SBDM Council and assists with implementing decisions made by the council.
Assists with communication to faculty and staff regarding school expectations, procedures, and directives from administration or central office.
Serves as a liaison between students, parents, staff, and administration as needed.
Assists in supervising and managing student discipline in accordance with the Code of Conduct and district policies.
Counsels with students, parents, and staff regarding academic, behavioral, attendance, and school-related concerns.
Assists with maintaining accurate discipline, attendance, safety, and administrative records.
Prepares reports and documentation as requested by the Principal, Superintendent, or designee.
Assists with Admissions and Release Committee meetings, 504 meetings, intervention meetings, and other student support processes as assigned.
Supervises student activities, athletic events, assemblies, field trips, dances, and other school-sponsored events as assigned.
Assists with daily building supervision, including hallways, cafeteria, arrival, dismissal, parking lots, and other common areas.
Works with school staff to promote consistent expectations for attendance, behavior, dress code, cell phone procedures, and classroom management.
Assists in coordinating emergency procedures, safety drills, crisis response, and school security measures.
Works with custodial, maintenance, and support staff to help maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained building.
Supports teachers in using available resources, instructional strategies, assessment data, and intervention supports to improve student achievement.
Assists with the recruitment, screening, mentoring, and support of professional and classified staff as assigned.
Fosters positive relationships among students, staff, families, and the community.
Maintains effective communication with parents and parent groups.
Assists with student and staff schedules, assignments, supervision plans, and duty rosters as assigned.
Promotes harmony, professionalism, and goodwill in a manner that earns the respect of students, staff, families, and the public.
Works cooperatively with other schools, district staff, community agencies, and outside organizations.
Provides leadership and guidance to students and staff.
Assists in maintaining the security of equipment, facilities, records, and school property.
Encourages students to seek support from administration, counselors, teachers, and other school personnel when needed.
Communicates effectively and frequently with staff, students, parents, the Principal, and Central Office staff.
Keeps the Principal informed of concerns related to students, staff, safety, discipline, instruction, and school operations.
Attends professional meetings, trainings, and clinics as requested or required.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or designee.
Terms of Employment:
220‑day contract with salary determined by the adopted certified and administrative salary schedules of the Trigg County Board of Education.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
