
Automation Manager, Global Engineering Services – INTL

Global Engineering Services – International is seeking an experienced Automation Manager to lead the design, deployment, and scaling of automation solutions across Amazon’s fulfilment and logistics network. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive large‑scale automation programs that directly impact operational efficiency, safety, and customer experience across India’s fulfilment center's (FCs), sort center's (SCs), and delivery stations.
Key Job Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end automation program delivery — from feasibility assessment and business case development through commissioning and operational handover
Define and own the automation roadmap for assigned sites and business lines, driving progressive penetration targets across the IN network
Evaluate technical feasibility and vendor solution availability for automation opportunities across FCs, SCs, and delivery stations
Partner with Ops Tech, WHS, RME, and site operations teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions into existing infrastructure
Develop ROI models, payback analyses, and capital investment plans to support automation business cases
Manage and develop a team of engineers and program managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership; serve as the single point of contact for automation engineering across assigned networks
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability, throughput, safety, and cost efficiency
Support the development of Amazon’s low‑cost automation and frugal innovation initiatives
Our team provides end‑to‑end engineering services to Amazon’s fulfilment and logistics network, building and deploying innovative automation and next‑generation technology solutions. We operate across FCs, SCs, and last‑mile delivery stations, with a mandate to drive automation penetration, frugal innovation, and self‑sustainability for the domestic market and beyond.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Experience in engineering including a supervisory role managing people
Experience in a fast‑paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience of automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems
Six Sigma Green Belt, or 1+ years of managing department spend and labor budgets, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and implementing continuous improvement (CI) experience
