Overview
The HIM ROI Analyst, Release of Records is responsible for processing all release of information requests for medical information for the Hospital in a timely and efficient manner. Understand and abide by the State and Federal guidelines, HIPAA, Title X, and 1976 Privacy Act. Stay informed of changing legislation affecting Release of Information processes. At all times safeguard and protect the patient's right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to minimum necessary medical information. Ensure all disclosures are documented and are in compliance with the request, authorization, Hospital policy and the State and Federal regulations.
*The preferred candidate will have prior experience with the release of Pediatric Medical Records. Prefer a Notary Public certification at time of hire.
**Incumbent must be able to work at our Riverside, MO location.
Responsibilities
Compile necessary information to satisfy requests for medical information.
Act as Point-of-Contact to incoming customers and perform clerical activities to support ROI and other department functions.
Process requests for Release of Information (ROI) using strict confidential safeguards, both standardized procedures and non-routine methods within a time frame defined by requestors, Hospital and department policies and Federal and State regulations.
Field inquiries and communicate ROI regulations, policies and procedures to medical staff, clinics, requestors and associates.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree 1-2 years experience. Experience working with the public while juggling multiple assignments and resolving issues by researching details would be beneficial in preparing the incumbent for this position.
HS diploma or equivalent 3-5 years experience prior work experience in the same job may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $21.72/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
