Park City Opera is currently looking for two Stage Managers to join our production teams for The Tender Land and Roméo et Juliette this summer.

Job Summary
The Stage Manager plays a pivotal role in the smooth operation of rehearsals and performances, ensuring that the artistic vision is realized through efficient coordination and support. This position requires excellent organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the cast and crew. The Stage Manager will be responsible for facilitating all rehearsal logistics, maintaining a professional environment, and acting as the primary liaison between the cast, creative team, and production staff.

Job Timeline & Payment
June 26-July 20: ~30 hrs/week in opera rehearsals

Total Stipend: $1,500-$1,800 depending on experience

July 29-August 25: ~30 hrs/week in opera rehearsals

Total Stipend: $1,600-$2,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
Blocking Documentation: Accurately record blocking notes and create sketches to track movements and positions for the cast and orchestra, ensuring clarity and consistency for all production needs.

Rehearsal Setup: Prepare the rehearsal space by setting up props, set pieces, music stands, and chairs for orchestra rehearsals as required. Maintain a well-organized environment to optimize rehearsal efficiency. Arrive at least 30 minutes before each rehearsal to ensure the space is ready, and stay after to reset the room for subsequent use.

Break Management: Monitor rehearsal breaks to maintain planned schedule

Security Coordination: Act as the point of contact with security personnel at the rehearsal venue to ensure safety and address any access or security-related needs.

Out of Rehearsal
Attendance and Punctuality: Track attendance and punctuality for singers, proactively addressing and reporting any issues related to attendance or tardiness.

Daily Scheduling: Distribute a detailed daily schedule to the cast, keeping them informed of call times, locations, and any last-minute changes.

Rehearsal Reports: Document and distribute a comprehensive rehearsal report following each session, highlighting progress, notes, and any issues to the Director, Conductor, and Rehearsal Pianist.

Qualifications
Ability to read music

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Exceptional attention to detail, especially in tracking complex staging requirements

Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage and resolve conflicts calmly and effectively

Familiarity with rehearsal room etiquette and production protocols

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by the rehearsal and performance schedule

Must have a car

Preferred Skills
Knowledge and passion for opera and/or classical music

BENEFITS
Pay Range: $1,500 - $2,000 Annual
