Principal Associate, Brand Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing
Capital One is seeking a talented sponsorships and experiential marketing professional to join the Brand team. In this role, you will help assist in the experiential marketing strategy and execution of sponsorships to deliver a meaningful consumer experience, as well as B2B client hospitality. This role will help define how we meet business objectives through experiential based marketing, while also being part of a larger, integrated sponsorship strategy. Knowledge and experience in executing events and sponsorships – sports and entertainment (e.g., music, dining, etc.) based sponsorships are preferred. The candidate will coordinate and manage sponsorship property partners, working with internal clients and interdepartmental teams to plan and execute sponsorship activations and VIP hospitality experiences. The Principal Associate will interface with internal and external partners, collaborate in a team setting, strategize/plan sponsorship activations and assist in managing external agencies.

The Brand team is responsible for positioning and differentiating the Capital One brand and empowering teams across the enterprise to deliver a cohesive and powerful brand experience – to our associates, customers, prospects and the community at large.

This job will require periodic travel (approximately 20%).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Develop strategies and POVs for activations for sponsorship properties, influencing key stakeholders through presentation.

Lead and support the planning, development, and implementation of onsite experiences and VIP hospitality programs for tentpole sponsorships.

Support the Brand Sponsorships manager with cross‑functional teams to develop and execute sponsorship activations and VIP hospitality programs.

Manage day‑to‑day deliverables with sponsorship properties, agency partners, and internal cross‑functional teams including communication of key deadlines.

When necessary, assist with onsite activations and VIP hospitality programs at major events, managing vendor/agency coordination with property partners and communicating updates to the internal team.

Aid in the creation of KPIs and communicate metrics and opportunities through written reports, presentations, and stakeholder status meetings.

Communicate key action items and status reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Coordinate information sharing among internal team and external partners related to event activations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.

At least 3 years of experience in sponsorships and experiential marketing or event planning.

At least 3 years of experience in marketing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least 4 years of experience in sponsorships and experiential marketing or event planning.

At least 4 years of experience in marketing.

At this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Associate, Brand

Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Associate, Brand

McLean and Richmond are the primary locations. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
