Your impact
In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering complex architecture projects from concept through construction. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Jacobs—bringing together design, technical excellence, digital innovation, and project leadership. You’ll have the opportunity to influence project vision, mentor emerging professionals, and shape the built environment across one of the world’s most dynamic markets.
What You’ll Do
Lead architectural design and technical development from early concept through construction documentation and administration
Serve as a project architect on medium to large, complex architectural projects across the Cities & Places market
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architecture, engineering, planning, interiors, and specialty consultants
Develop and review detailed drawing sets, specifications, building systems, and code compliance documentation
Facilitate client presentations, design reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities
Oversee project schedules, deliverables, and quality standards to ensure alignment with scope and client expectations
Mentor and guide junior architects and designers, fostering a collaborative project environment
Support design strategy, sustainability goals, and digital delivery workflows (BIM/Revit)
Partner with project managers to manage design risk, resolve technical challenges, and ensure successful execution
Here’s what you’ll need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
Licensed Architect (U.S.) or actively pursuing licensure
Substantial years of progressive architectural experience, including experience leading complex projects
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows
Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and technical detailing
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams
Excellent communication, documentation, and client‑facing skills
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Experience delivering projects within the New York metropolitan area
Previous work on civic, institutional, or mixed‑use projects, with an emphasis on the transportation sector
Strong design sensibility combined with technical expertise
Experience with sustainable design frameworks (LEED, WELL, Envision, etc.)
Familiarity with digital design tools such as Rhino, Enscape, Navisworks, or similar
Familiarity with Bentley tools such as Open Buildings and ProjectWise
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and mentor emerging professionals

The base salary range for this position is $135,000.00 to $165,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
