
Sr Internal Auditor

Job Description Summary
Position Responsibilities :
Execute and oversee audits in accordance with the annual internal audit plan which includes planning the audit leveraging a risk-based methodology, develop testing programs, performing audit test work, develop recommendations and the preparation of internal audit reports.
Act as the lead auditor in the performance of designated audits, related assignments, special projects of varying complexity and business focus as directed by Internal Audit Function leadership.
Prepare and review audit programs and work papers ensuring work is documented according to department standards.
Prepare and review comprehensive audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations for management.
Communicate audit findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and help to implement necessary changes.
Monitor remediation of Management Action Plans developed to address internal audit findings and execute required follow up audit procedures.
Collaborate with different departments and teams to provide guidance on financial and operational control improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual financial audits and provide required support and information.
Conduct training to raise awareness among employees about financial controls and compliance.
Stay current with industry best practices, accounting standards, and audit methodologies.
Maintain independence and objectivity in performing audit procedures.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required. A Master\'s degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CIA, CISA) is preferred.
3-5 years of previous audit experience or other relevant experience.
Familiarity with audit methodologies, standards and regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
High ethical standards and integrity.
Creative thinker.
Engaged and challenging mindset.
Proficient in Microsoft products.
Physical Demands
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work.
