ELS Analyst – Lower Colorado River Authority

General Overview

Performs preparatory and analytical methods within a defined laboratory section or discipline

Assists with troubleshooting instrumentation, equipment, and analytical methodologies to ensure production goals are met

Assists with maintenance and repairs by communicating troubleshooting observations to senior staff/management

Records maintenance performed in LIMS

Performs laboratory testing and analysis in compliance with SOPs

Main Responsibilities

Conduct sample preparation and analysis using laboratory instruments/equipment

Make observations, analyze data, and interpret results

Perform analytical calculations and document results

Enter data into LIMS and maintain raw data records

Assist with troubleshooting instrumentation/equipment issues

Assist with maintenance and repair coordination

Review and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Assist with corrective/preventive action investigations

Perform quality control procedures to ensure data validity and traceability

Maintain records for:

Demonstration of Capability (DOC)

Method Detection Limit (MDL)

Limit of Detection (LOD)

Training records

Ensure compliance with:

ELS Quality System Manual (QSM)

NELAP requirements

State and federal regulations

Client-specific QAPPs

Follow ELS safety program and chemical hygiene plan

Complete required training and annual certifications

Transport hazardous waste materials to designated storage containers

Monitor consumable inventory and enter order requests into LIMS

May perform all ELS Technician duties

Must perform additional duties assigned by supervisor/management

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

Prior laboratory support or analytical experience

Relevant college education

Knowledge Requirements

Hazardous waste materials

Laboratory safety/environmental procedures

Sample extraction and analysis

Quantitative analytical chemistry

Laboratory instrumentation and procedures

Electronics and mechanics

Data entry/software systems

Analytical instrument software
