Responsibilities
Our Registered Nurses in Labor & Delivery independently perform clinical care to patients. Working with a dedicated team, the Registered Nurse provides evidence-based, high quality care in labor & delivery, OB operating room, and triage area. Primary care of the antepartum and immediate post‑partum high risk obstetrical patient, and serves as a resource for other team members. Our Labor and Delivery Unit, part of the Family Childbirth and Children’s Center at Mercy performs between 250‑300 births per month.

Requirements

Diploma/degree from an accredited nursing school (a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, or agreement to enroll within six months of employment)

Registered Nurse license to practice in Maryland or the ability to obtain a Maryland license based on timeframe of licensing board

1-2+ years of clinical nursing experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with focused practicum or technician experience in L&D will be considered

Healthcare Provider‑Level CPR certification

Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP)

EfM (external fetal monitoring) certification within 18 months of hire

Salary
Min: USD $38.58/Hr.

Max: USD $69.44/Hr.

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid‑portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
