Adult Cardiac Surgeon, Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan Health West
The University of Michigan, Department of Cardiac Surgery, Section of Adult Cardiac Surgery is seeking a full‑time cardiac surgeon at the Clinical Assistant level. This position is a faculty appointment in the University of Michigan Medical School with clinical responsibilities solely at University of Michigan Health West in Grand Rapids, MI. The surgeon will be responsible for performing complex adult cardiac and thoracic surgery in a thriving program. On‑call coverage is required and will be shared with fellow faculty. Rank of the selected candidate is dependent upon qualifications.

Required Qualifications
MD or DO degree.

Board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS) or acceptable equivalents listed below.

American Osteopathic Association (AOA)

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)

Royal College of Physicians of London (RCP)

The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS)

Completion of an ACGME‑accredited cardiothoracic surgery residency.

Proficient in all aspects of adult cardiac surgery with excellent technical skills.

A proven track record of high‑quality outcomes.

Must hold or obtain a full, unrestricted medical license in the State of Michigan.
