Position Overview
The Unified Mental Health Team (UMHT) Student Check-In Monitor will contact students that have been identified by school staff as at‑risk for returning to school in the Fall. Staff will be compensated for their time starting the week of July 20 until their first official contract day with Loudoun County Public Schools for the 2026‑27 school year. Hours will vary by location.
Roles and Responsibilities
The role of the UMHT Summer Check‑In staff is to build relationships with existing and new students and parents which will promote a successful transition into the upcoming school year. Designated UMHT staff are responsible for the following duties:
Contact parents and students to see what resources and/or support they may need to transition back to school.
Contact students and families to see what resources and/or support they may need. These can be current students the UMHT has been supporting or new students transitioning.
Provide tiered response to support students at the school for individual or group support. This may start as virtual but should progress to in person as part of their transition plan.
Plan open houses, school tours, meet and greets, or other organized activities that connect students and families to school.
Collaboration with summer and other program staff.
Suicide Screenings, threat Assessments, CPS reporting guidance.
Supervision of students and classroom instruction and support.
Qualifications
Position requires the following qualifications:
Currently employed as a School Counselor, Social Worker, Psychologist, Attendance Officer or Student Assistance Specialist.
Physical Requirements
The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity and is performed in office surroundings. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing devices.
Additional Details
This is a part‑time, non‑benefited, hourly position. No guarantee of minimum hours.

Salary Level: Band 15 / $39.14 hourly
Salary Scale: https://www.lcps.org/compensation
