The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at East Texas A&M University, **a student-ready, Doctoral University classified as R2: High Research Activity by the Carnegie Classification,** invites applications for an Instructor (Non-Renewable) faculty to teach biochemistry courses in the Fall 2026 semester. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s teaching and service missions, effective and comprehensive teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and meaningful service to the department within a student-ready framework.* Teach undergraduate and graduate level Biochemistry courses and perform activities related to teaching.* Provide student advisement, evaluation and counseling.* Advise and mentor undergraduate students and work with student organizations.* Perform other duties as assigned by Department Head.* **Education and Experience:**MS or Ph.D. in Biochemistry or related fields.* **Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:**

+ Excellent communication, written and technology skills.

+ Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills.

+ Demonstrate ability for effective teaching.* **Licensing/Professional Certifications:** NA* **Physical Requirements:*** Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for extended periods during lectures, meetings, and grading* Ability to move between classrooms, laboratories, and office spaces across campus* Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment and instructional technology (e.g., microscopes, pipettes, computers, projection systems)* Ability to manipulate small objects and perform fine motor tasks, such as preparing samples or handling lab materials* Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20–25 pounds (e.g., lab supplies, teaching materials)* Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment, including exposure to:

+ Chemical reagents

+ Biological materials
