Position Summary
Renewable contract instructor position in Management Information Systems. Teach at least 24 credit hours per year, conduct scholarly activities to remain AACSB qualified, and perform service activities for department, college, and the university.
Detailed Position Information
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in software development, project management, systems analysis and design, AI‑driven systems and applications, and AI applications in business and information systems.
Guiding Capstone project teams.
Conducting scholarly activities to remain in good standing regarding AACSB qualifications.
Performing service activities for department, college, and the university.
Organizing MIS events such as hackathons, UA Innovate, and affinity group meetings with industry partners.
Position is non‑tenure earning, renewable for three‑year periods at the discretion of the University with no expectation of continued employment beyond each contract period.
Position commences August 16 2026.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements.
Background Investigation
Prior to hiring, the final candidate(s) must successfully pass a pre‑employment background investigation and review of information obtained from social media and other internet sources. A prior conviction reported as a result of the background investigation does not automatically disqualify a candidate from consideration for this position; a candidate with a prior conviction or negative behavioral red flags will receive an individualized review before a hiring decision is made.
Minimum Qualifications
Either a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of industry experience or a PhD with experience teaching MIS related courses.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 10 years of relevant industry experience, including at least 5 years in software development, project management, or systems analysis and design.
Demonstrated experience using and building AI‑enabled tools and applications.
Ability to partner with industry to inform curriculum development and support student internship and full‑time placement.
