Position Type: Full‑time.
Starting Date: Immediately.
Location: Hyde Park, Massachusetts.
Boston Prep is a college‑preparatory charter public district with a single‑site middle and high school. With approximately 700 students in grades 6‑12 and 150 faculty, we hold the same high expectations for all students including those with special needs and English language learners.
Mission
Our mission is to prepare students for college success while fostering ethical growth and anti‑racism, supported by an extended school day and year, strong staff, and a culture of inclusion.
Service Delivery
Provide speech–language services in pull‑out, small‑group, push‑in, and social skills settings for grades 6‑12.
Administer evaluations, develop reports, and present findings at team meetings.
Participate in IEP teams, develop goals, and track progress.
Collaborate with general and special education teachers and the special education director to implement accommodations.
Maintain regular contact with parents and submit progress reports each semester.
Use data to inform instruction and pursue ongoing professional development.
Classroom Culture & Family Partnership
Build strong relationships to promote confidence and engagement.
Communicate frequently with families about progress and intervention goals.
Provide strategies to support home reading development.
Model empathy, maintain high expectations, and foster a supportive inclusive environment.
Participate in family conferences, school events, and community engagement.
Collaboration & School Culture
Attend weekly staff professional development, One Team meetings, department, and grade‑level meetings.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and leadership.
Support school systems with fidelity and participate in school‑wide initiatives.
Education & Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred).
Qualifications:
Experience supporting struggling students through targeted interventions.
Licensed, ASHA‑certified Speech‑Language Pathologist.
Commitment to equal opportunity for all students.
Prior experience facilitating high achievement of special education students.
Certifications and Licensure:
Valid Massachusetts teaching license for the appropriate subject area.
Or a passing score on the Communications & Literacy MTEL and an MTEL in the content area(s) within the first year.
SEI endorsement for core academic and special education teachers within the first year.
Compensation
Hours: 0.8–4 days per week. Salary range: $74,406 – $125,759, based on experience.
